GGA Provides Expertise, Strategic Thinking, & a Commitment to Success

Gephardt Government Affairs (“GGA”) was founded on the belief that affecting public policy requires more than the ability to open doors – it demands policy expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to success. With more than three decades of policy-making experience, our bipartisan team helps clients achieve winning outcomes.

Advocacy

Gephardt Government Affairs is widely recognized as one of the most effective legislative and regulatory strategy shops in Washington. GGA’s professionals offer decades of expertise in a wide range of issues and interests and represent clients from a full range of industries and backgrounds, including:

  • Appropriations
  • Defense and Homeland Security
  • Education
  • Energy and Natural Resources
  • Financial Services and Banking
  • Healthcare
  • Tax and Budget
  • Transportation and Infrastructure

Legislative and Regulatory Advocacy
GGA has helped clients successfully navigate Washington’s complex legislative and regulatory arenas. Coming from the policy-making trenches, we have the know-how and access necessary to engage Capitol Hill and the Executive Branch.
Coalition-Building and Grassroots Campaigns
Effective advocacy in Washington occurs when there is a united voice on an issue. We have launched coalitions with clients, by defining clear governing principles and devising a plan of action. We have served as the “Quarterback” by building bridges to and engaging key stakeholders, and implementing the advocacy and communications campaign plan.
Senior Leadership & CEO Advising
Our professionals have served on corporate and non-profit boards and as in-house lobbyists, and understand the challenges our clients often face. We offer crisis communications, reputation management, and hearing preparation assistance. As former campaign strategists, we also offer political perspective and briefings, and regularly advise clients on ways to maximize the impact of their PAC giving.

Procurement

GGA has unique skills and experience working on federal procurement policies and opportunities for our clients. Our professionals have served as procurement counsel in the private and public sectors: as senior executives of contracting firms, political appointees and career program managers in federal agencies, and as senior staffers on congressional committees with oversight of major procurements. This gives us a comprehensive understanding of federal contracting from both the business and agency perspectives.

We help with long-range business development planning, identifying opportunities and obstacles, to best position our clients to win contracts. When targeting procurements, we help clients access senior decision makers within federal agencies and on the Hill. And we help when our clients face an unjustified procurement loss, by developing and executing a strategy to complement a formal bid protest to secure a fair award. We understand that our job is to help clients grow their bottom-line.

Foreign Affairs

Our team assists foreign governments in Washington, providing strategic, political, and legislative advice to those governments, as well as international clients considering market growth in the United States and overseas.
